Disc Restoration is what you never want to have to do. ¬†A service you hope you never have to use. ¬†In a perfect world, discs would never get damaged and if they did they would magically repair themselves. ¬†Unfortunately perfection is not one of the strong points of Earth nor it’s inhabitants and that is where we come to the rescue. ¬†Sure there are those do it yourself DVD / CD / Blu-Ray repair kits, but the truth about that little hopeful is that the actual damage doesn’t receive personal attention and even though success may be the final result, all to often the DVDs and CDs are still unplayable. ¬†One of our specialty backgrounds is in the field of optical production and polishing. ¬†For over 27 years we have had experience in the field of optics and how to make a perfect lens. ¬†When you really think about it, a DVD, CD and Blu-Ray are simply flat optical lenses with reflective information on one side. ¬†When you have a damaged DVD or other optical disc that refuses to play anymore, there is usually 1 or more of 4 types of damage that can occur to the disc. ¬†The following gives you an idea of what we are talking about.
1. ¬†Your disc has been cracked………………………. If this is the case, we attempt to extract the data from the disc and recreate the information to another medium.
2. ¬†Your disc has received top reflective layer damage and is un-repairable……. ¬†In this case we attempt to extract as much info as possible and save it to another medium.
3. ¬†Your disc has received optical surface damage and is playing very unstable……. In this case we use some special techniques and personal attention to restore the surface to a playable condition with a 90% success ratio thus keeping the original disc in tact.
4.  Chemical damage may have occurred in which case we analyze each disc on a case by case study to determine it repairable status.
